The Centre for Innovation and Enterprise (CIE) at MMU has designed an entry level course for school administrators.
Named the Certificate of School Administration (CSA), the new programme offers participants the chance to build their skills and knowledge in the complex arena of administration in schools and colleges.
CIE developed the programme in partnership with the Institute of Administrative Management (IAM). Programme leader, Doug Green, commented:
"The CSA is an ideal learning opportunity for those with different levels of educational administrative experience.
"The programme's flexible structure allows you to centre on your particular needs within your school. The Certificate in School Administration is open to all interested in a starting point for further learning and / or developing skills at work, in the field of school administration."
There is a lot of national and international interest in this programme. The University of Alabama is funding a group of 200 participants to take the course online starting in January, and the first UK group starts in Liverpool in November.
This Level 3 qualification is a useful stepping stone for those who may wish to progress onto NCSL's CSBM programme at a later date.
